Well, well, well ladies and gents. Welcome back to another round of discussions at North Street Suites. Ben and I flying solo for this week's discussion on the Zombie Dolphins podcast and we've picked a topic that is the very definition of polarizing, Mr Tim Burton. He's had quite the eclectic career spanning the last 30+ years in the film business and has been the cause for a huge division between diehard fans and those who think he's a hack director (I feel like we fall somewhere in between after this chat). For our first dedicated spotlight on a single director we've picked someone who we believe has spanned all the various genres that this website is devoted to: horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. It's up to you, fine listener, to decide if Mr. Burton has ever made a good movie in each genre or failed horribly at every turn. Oh and you want some rants do ya?? Well we got your fuckin' rants in this one with both Ben and I getting in on the action at various turns. So sit back, grab a beer, and join us for the first of many director spotlights. (Also if you're counting this would actually be podcast number 11, unlike what those dummies in the podcast think). (And this was going to be a two-parter but we decided screw you're going to this to us prattle on for two hours and you're gonna love it! But if you do need a break you could probably hit pause around the 1hr 9min mark and we'd be cool with that).
